Handwriting Through the Ages

Exploring the many ways we discover clues to our past lives

Postby Sandra on Mon Apr 02, 2007 10:00 am

My scanner will not work, I'm afraid. I must have accidentally erased the software. Later...
If this be error, and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

I'm affraid I "ruined" my own handwriting.
I was so in love with a certain script for a while (18th century English, with a lot of bells and wistles like this:).
And after that Kurrent Schrift and its follow-up Sütterlin
I also did some (very basic) calligraphy.
So I wonder what is left of my own handwriting.

But I find this a fascinating topic :D

How detailed a sample would you need to analyze handwriting? I don't have many PL samples, but I could scan several of my present life examples. My handwriting is pretty awful though, I must warn of that lol. Handwriting was always something I had difficulty with, I'm not neat in any sphere of my life. I agree handwriting shouldn't be the only factor in determining past lives, you really should get it confirmed by Ahtum Ra too, but it's interesting just for curiosity's sake. If your interested I could send you some samples. I wish I had the other sample too. I had scanned it from a book but don't seem to have it now. Maybe I saved it under a different name. It's times like this I wish I didn't have 6000 picture files saved!

Yeah, lots of picture files can ba a pain to wade through. thats why I have them sorted by category in about a dozen folders on my desktop. I might have dirty dishes in the sink at home-- but you can find just about everything youre looking for quickly on my laptop... I dont know if thats a good thing or not the :D

Anyway, Im willing to try anything, but something with at least enough detail to be able to make out the strokes would be optimal. Also, if you have anything that you have written that is written with a similar style instrument as the origonal it also tends to make it easier since the pressure and stroke points can be compared.

As for neatness- did you look at my writing in the study? It sucks too...

I mean when I was talking to Karen, she gave me hell because
I couldnt read some of the notes id written. I should post some of my book annotations... those are even more fun...

Feel free to send me what you have, ill see what I can do.

I'll see if I can find something similar to the sample I've seen. Should I send an e-mail or just post links? I can put my samples in my photobucket.

I have been able to locate the handwriting of my two most well-known past lives. The writing of one is not in my possession. At any rate, the writing matches my own both times.

It is awful. Actually, it's neither good nor bad. It slants upwards, especially in respect to signatures. Some letters receive great flourishes. Others look like a delayed second grader struggled to scrawl them out. All this combined makes my handwriting of the past and the present look simply unique, at least to most. And that is, I suppose, my unconscious attempt.

My signature "e"s have always looked dyslexic-- purposely.

I do not like writing in length by hand at all. I automatically want to write everything in this style, and thus very few tolerate reading my handwritten chronicles. Thank goodness for modern technology, and the gift of speech.

I forgot totally about this thread. Did you ever find anything in those handwriting samples I sent you Wilhelm, assuming it was actually legible lol. Yes I too am thankful everything is typed now. It's migraine inducing trying to type up stuff from my notebooks to write my novel. I'm just glad I've gotten to the point where I was aware of that and starting writing bigger. Right now I'm up to typing stuff from November 2005 so it pains me to think I have 2 years worth of notebooks to go before I even break even with now and by then I'll have more. It never ends!

I will add the link here, thought I have brought this up elsewhere:

Handwriting samples

I need to come up with more samples of both, so you can see more of Esther's and my similarities: this only shows a few common letters.

Zeta- I totally forgot about it, yet again. Im going to dig through my gmail and see if I can find the orig samples your sent me and see what i can find.

Sandra- Hadnt seen those before. I remember you posted the sigs (I think) awhile back, but I hadnt ever seen everything side to side.

Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to get a better look. Tonights just not the best idea. Work was hell today and theres a lot of stuff Im chewing on, so I dont feel like id be able to give it the attention it deserves right now.

Was there another post from someone else earlier that diasppeared? I popped in for a minute yesterday and I thought there was another pic up here. Am I losing it completely?

No, that was me and then I got shy. I've sent you the pic privately... would be interested to hear your thoughts.

If you don't have them I can resend or you can also find them on my photobucket- http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v192/Zetascair20086/ . I wish I could find samples from my other FPLs but for most I don't think much of the originals survive.

Just an update- Ive been working a lot of overtime the last week, so I havent had time to really take a good look at anything.

I am also wrestling with my printer right now- It hates my guts and the feeling is mutual- so I can annotate everything, since its rather hard for me to get pen off my monitor screen.

But I swear I'll get to it. Things should settle down around the end of next week.

I appreciate your efforts.

In terms of what I've sent you, even a few comments down the road would be great, even of the "Um, ah, sorry... hate to tell you" variety (which could go either way, I suppose ;) ).

If there's anything of interest, feel free to post the pic or whatever... I'll wait in line until after Zeta, though.

Take your time, don't feel rushed. I'd actually forgotten completely about this until the thread was revived. Let me know if anything interesting comes up. Do you still have the samples I e-mailed you, because I can resend if necessary.
