Awful quiet round here...

Postby Brooklynfan on Mon Nov 19, 2007 10:52 pm

Wow,

Its been really, really quiet around here....
Wheres everyone at?

Seems like weve all been busy lately either with other projects or because of computer problems (ive been having both) but it seems like everything has come to a screeching halt...

So who's still here?

I'm still here. File me under "other projects" -- plus not wanting to dominate the conversation due to the sheer absence of others...

I read everyday too but if there is no activity I usually don't post much. But yeah things definately have been dead around here lately. In terms of posting(on all forums I'm on) this month is probably a record low by volume, at least since I started keeping count.

Life exploded. Big, big boom. Biggest. In a good way. But I need every incarnation to split off RIGHT NOW and put a shoulder to the wheel - I seriously need to have a dozen of me...

Project (hardly surprising)

Postby Notorious_Gossip on Wed Nov 21, 2007 3:58 am

I've been busy with a project that started in mid-July, and has gotten to the point where I have no life of my own.

I'm also still trying to adjust to living with total recall. I need to be able to describe it, and I haven't found the words yet. Weird would be an understatement.

I'm surprised the rush of association doesn't just about freeze you in place. My mental state pops me so far out of the time frame that I really have to watch it. With me, it's not past-life recall, it's that yogic effect of slowing subjective time. About a month ago I was throwing stuff out of my refrigerator that was close to 5 years old.

Tackling a current life set of demons, else I can't really move on too well. I'd head in to see a therapist just to talk but I don't want somebody who's going to... well... try to get me to cry. I don't cry. I may feel bad, but I think about it, assess my responsibility, deal with it, say, "Oh, well," to the rest, and laugh about it.

To me there's a pretty fine line between venting/getting the advice of someone more knowledged than you in dealing with the situation and talking smack behind a person's back. And another fine line between airing grievances and whining. I try to cross those lines the fewest number of times I possibly can. Good thing is I'm back to my laughing mood. Took a while, but I'm fairly well back.
Sure it's possible, but is it plausible?

I don't know why you are surprised about how I'd react to something. You don't know me from a hole in the ground. Besides, the rush of associations was the Funhouse stage, not Total Integration. It's a totally different experience. Thankfully.

Having it all finally become real, and being able to access all that I've learned and done and felt-finally-energized me and has had me moving forward.

And when it comes to time, it has been flying for me! I'm enjoying what I do, now that I've got all of me doing it.

Well! I hope you do find the words... I for one would be quite interested. what you're calling "the Funhouse stage" is all that I can fathom right now. this stuff is a little new to me.

Evidently

I'm not much of a writer if I can't find the words, Peter. Thank you so much for your confidence in my abilities.

Right now, the issue is time. I've served notice on my kid that I'm going to be off-duty for a couple of days during the Christmas holidays so that I can do the re-write.

"The Funhouse" is an in-joke. The stage it refers to is called Cognitive Dissonance. All of that will be covered in the procedure manual.

Tell me about it. Going through that as well.

Also, the huge amount of new recall. I don't call it total for myself - I think my mind is filling in the blanks. In fact I know it is - I identified a soldier in a painting as Bear, then one of the experts on Waterhouse told me who it was.

I am updating the websites, slowly, as well as working on my other things. Takes so much time. The brain is jello...

It's called confabulation. Because of it I must check and recheck my basic facts... sometimes I think I have a fleecy little cumulus cloud for a brain...

I've also been quiet for a while.
Busy with other things.
And I'm not sure if I have anything exciting to tell about past lives.
Been there, done that ;)
I try to live in the now for a change.
With every now and then a little bit of nostalgia for the past.

Concentrating on the present can be a good thing. A friend of mine used to say that "it does not do well to dwell on the past and forget to live in the present."

I suspect its a take off of the famous line from JK Rowling, but it is still good, IMHO.

Besides, it can be quite bad to spend too much time in the past, you might just find yourself stuck there, metaphorically speaking...
