If you were a website, what website would you be?

This doesn't mean a whole lot, but I found it hilarious. I guess some people talking on some of these forums about being archetypes is what inspired me to post this... websites are people, too!

Amusing. I would probably be some website featuring long lists of information that no one cares about, although definitely not dictionary.com, and most definitely not Wikipedia.

Information toward practicality, I would assume -- hardly trivia, though "society" may have relegated it to less than that these days.

I assume I'm on the right track with you, eh? (You didn't make it all that difficult to trace).

Yes (though updated to include this and the past century), and most likely, yes.

Considering the nature of this forum and its members, I didn't feel that I had to. This place doesn't seem like the kind where one has to cover ones tracks too much, for lack of a better phrase.

Well, I should weigh in here, since I brought it up.

I'd be either some nerdy website devoted to the history of superheros or some weird, synchronicity-investigating website dedicated to turning up meaning under every stone. There's several I could select.

I'd be one of those websites that tracks everything about you and what you do on the site, and then reports it to the government. All the while simultaneously causing your screen to be completely buried under pop-ups.

Me as a website would also install a bunch of spyware, malware and viruses and reset your home page to something random and bizarre like the Church of Fred.

I'd love to visit that website, but you couldn't pay me enough!

Great video, I was giggling all the way through. Great how Snopes looked like a tight-anused librarian. I kept waiting for Daily Kos to show up, though... all dressed in orange and yammering about how Republicans suck. Maybe getting into a fight with Redstate.

If I were a website I'd be a prolific never-ending blog about reincarnation, spiritual growth, homeopathy, homeopathic regulation, autism, fiction writing, Thomas Dolby, inspirational thinking, spirit guides' yakkings, history of the Alexandrian era and American politics, not necessarily in that order, with a lot of snide photoshops, pictures of my kids and my place, and videos of cats being either acrobatic or klutzy. Colour scheme would be purple & black. Comments would be open, always. You would maintain trusted user status through either trenchant insights, black humour, or both at once.

Ha! You'd have to call it Just Karen! or some-such. I don't know how else you could encapsulate it. :)

Let his divine will be done! Fred needs all the help he can get, he has no body since we were all too cheap to buy that mannequin!

So does anyone here think they'd be some kind of shock site like tubgirl or goatse?

Not me, but I know someone who would. She's the queen of bizarre links. Whenever we are on chat, and she sends me a link, they are all "click at your own risk", and wrong on levels.

Honestly, the type of website I'd be is a tremendously gossipy blog that dishes the dirt about everyone I know. A good sharp bite at times, embarassingly nerdy at others, but with a good strong sense of humor throughout. I'd be a good source of cheap entertainment.

:)

OK, I made the terrible decision to surf on over to tubgirl. I lasted about less than a second. My curiosity about "What the Hell?" is not even strong enough to proceed further. I will train my mind to believe that what I saw was merely some form of digital manipulation.

I will survive.

The first response is always denial.

Don't worry, you'll learn to live with the memory. I first saw her back in 2001, and I still have flashbacks.

I was heartbroken when I heard that my old friend goatse died, and his website with him. It was a terrible loss to the trolling community.

The "hidden goatse link" was a popular joke back in the day.

I can't wait to see what I make of my memories in this life, the next time around. Tubgirl and goatse are going to be a little hard to figure out.
